QBronze48 | Workshop on Quantum Computing and Programming for Juniors | January 9-17, 2021

We, as QPoland, invite all high schools students to learn the basics of quantum computing and how to write simple quantum programs!

With recent breakthroughs in quantum technologies from tech companies like Google or IBM, we are now entering the era of quantum computing. It is an emerging technology with a high potential to drive sciences and societies further, and open doors to greater achievements across industries.

Join us in the “Workshop on Quantum Computing and Programming” organized by QPoland together with the Quantum AI Foundation to understand the science behind quantum computing and develop your first quantum algorithms on IBM Qiskit platform. During the workshop, we will use the introductory tutorial Bronze prepared by QWorld. The educational materials are in English, but the language of training and mentoring will be Polish. We will use Zoom and Slack to conduct the workshop.

The participants completing the workshop successfully will receive a diploma!

Participants will be watching the lecture videos and completing the tasks on their own. Mentor support will be provided for participants to ask their questions and share their progress with mentors. The workshop will be held over 4 days on two consecutive weekends, with a total of 30 hours of training.

First Weekend | 9-10.01.2021
Saturday: 9:30 to 17:00 Warsaw Time (CET / UTC+1)
Sunday: 9:30 to 17:00 Warsaw Time (CET / UTC+1)

Second Weekend | 16-17.01.2021
Saturday: 9:30 to 17:00 Warsaw Time (CET / UTC+1)
Sunday: 9:30 to 17:00 Warsaw Time (CET / UTC+1)

The tutorial is a collection of Jupyter notebooks based on Bronze materials https://gitlab.com/qkitchen/basics-of-quantum-computing, each notebook has also a recorded lecture. We use Python to solve the tasks and Qiskit library to code quantum programs. We will share the installation instructions and a few notebooks on the basics of mathematics – the participants should review them before the workshop starts.

The workshop will be in Polish but the materials (notebooks) will be in English.
